Lauren Gussis Class ImageIn this class, creator and showrunner Lauren Gussis (Netflix’s INSATIABLE, 9 pilots) will help you focus your story, track your character arcs, trim the fat by tightening and heightening scenes, make your characters pop, polish your dialogue and sharpen your action. You’ll refine the language of your script word by word, line by line, scene by scene and act by act. This class is a must if you’re ready to lock in your script.

Note: For TV certificate program members, this class can be taken in lieu of 1 private script consult.

Prerequisites: Successful completion of TV 2, TV Drama 2, TV Comedy 2 at Writing Pad (no exceptions) or if you have sold a pilot or written on a TV show, you can take this class.

Showrunner & Creator, Netflix's INSATIABLE, 10 pilots, Co-EP, DEXTER

Lauren is an Emmy-nominated writer and producer who worked all eight seasons on the original Dexter for Showtime, graduating from Staff Writer to Co-Executive Producer. She then developed, wrote and executive produced a pilot with Ryan Murphy, HBO’s Open (2014), starring Michelle Monaghan. Under a nine-year overall deal with CBS, she developed several pitches and sold nine pilots, including Netflix’s Insatiable (2018-19), starring Debby Ryan, which she show-ran for two seasons. She also recently sold another pilot. Lauren’s broadcast credits include NBC’s E-Ring, ABC’s Once Upon a Time, and CBS’s Good Sam.
