Pemi Aguda
One Story, ZYZZYVA, Ploughshares
’Pemi Aguda's work has appeared in Zoetrope, Granta, ZYZZYVA, Ploughshares, and One Story. Her stories have won awards such as 2022 & 2023 O. Henry Prizes, a Nommo award, and the 2020 Deborah Rogers Award. She was a Miami Book Fair Fiction Fellow, a MacDowell Fellow, and an Aspen Words Emerging Writers Fellow. W.W. Norton will publish her debut short story collection, Ghostroots, and debut novel, The Suicide Mothers. 'Pemi is a graduate of the Helen Zell Writers Program at the University of Michigan where she received an MFA in creative writing.
