Michael Callahan

Contributing Editor, Vanity Fair, NY Times

Michael Callahan is an award-winning magazine writer, editor, and novelist. A contributing editor at Vanity Fair, he has written for a wide variety of national magazines, including Esquire, ESPN The Magazine, The Hollywood Reporter, and Inc., among others, and has served as a deputy editor for titles such as Town & Country, Marie Claire, and ELLE. He currently serves as the editorial director at UCLA Magazine, as well as a contributing critic for the New York Times and W. He is the author of two critically acclaimed works of historical fiction and a coffee table history of the legendary Musso & Frank Grill in Hollywood, and his third novel, The Lost Letters from Martha’s Vineyard, will be published by HarperCollins in May 2024. He has spent almost two decades as a professional journalism instructor and lecturer at various universities, including Fordham University in New York and Temple University in Philadelphia.
