Best American Short Stories, Paris Review
Lauren Acampora's collection of linked stories, The Animal Room, is forthcoming in 2026, and her short fiction will appear in The Best American Short Stories 2025. Lauren’s writing has appeared in publications such as The Paris Review, New England Review, Missouri Review, Guernica, and The New York Times. She is also the author of three books of fiction, The Wonder Garden, The Paper Wasp, and The Hundred Waters, published by Grove Atlantic. Lauren’s books have won or been nominated for the GLCA New Writers Award, the Center for Fiction’s First Novel Prize, the Story Prize, and the New England Book Award, and she’s been named an Artist Fellow in Fiction by The New York Foundation for the Arts. She’s received fellowships from the New York Foundation for the Arts, MacDowell, Ucross, Art OMI, the Ragdale Foundation, and Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory.
