Do you have a great idea for HBO’s next hit series? Let successful TV writer Megan Ritchie (Apple TV+’s SEVERANCE, SUGAR) help you transform your brilliant premise into a page-turning script! In this 5-week Online TV Drama Pilot Class, you’ll learn how to craft a great logline, structure a compelling story, plan a season arc that keeps the audience hooked, and break your pilot story just like they do in the writers’ room.
Megan will show you how to dramatize and sprinkle in the right amount of plot, character and story for a one-hour show. Through in-class workshopping and pitching, you’ll clarify your tone, voice and world. By the end of this class, you will have created a beat sheet for an irresistible TV Drama pilot.

Apple TV+'s SEVERANCE, SUGAR
Megan Ritchie wrote on the highly-anticipated second season of SEVERANCE, the Emmy-winning television show on Apple+, out January 2025. She was also staffed on the forthcoming second season of SUGAR, starring Colin Farrell, on Apple+. Ritchie's feature script THAT WOMAN was an Academy Nicholl Quarterfinalist. She has previously worked as the writer's assistant on both FX’s Y: THE LAST MAN and Starz' AMERICAN GODS, as well as SEVERANCE. Before working directly in writer's rooms, Ritchie assisted screenwriters and show creators including Zak Penn, Marti Noxon, Stacy Rukeyser, Paul Weitz and Chris Weitz on projects for Netflix, Warner Bros, Amazon, Lucasfilm, Sony Pictures Classics, and Amblin, among others. Ritchie has also worked in film and TV development as a development executive at the production company Depth of Field, and in theater production as the associate company manager of Relevant Theatricals. Ritchie is the writer/director/producer of several short films, IN THE POOL (2017), SNIFF (2021), which had its world debut at the Monmouth Film Festival, and the forthcoming HAPPY ANNIVERSARY (2025).
