Let successful TV writer David Albright (TRUE DETECTIVE: NIGHT COUNTRY, SHINING GIRLS) help you transform your brilliant premise into a page-turning script! In this 5-week Online TV Drama Pilot Class, you’ll learn how to craft a great logline, structure a compelling story, plan a season arc that keeps the audience hooked, and break your pilot story just like they do in the writers’ room.

David will show you how to dramatize and sprinkle in the right amount of plot, character and story for a one-hour show. Through in-class workshopping and pitching, you’ll clarify your tone, voice and world. By the end of this class, you will have created a beat sheet for an irresistible TV Drama pilot.

David Albright

TRUE DETECTIVE: NIGHT COUNTRY, SHINING GIRLS

David Albright is a WGA Award nominated writer and educator. His on air credits include Apple’s SHINING GIRLS, for which he served as Executive Story Editor, and HBO's TRUE DETECTIVE: NIGHT COUNTRY. He previously worked as a staff writer on FURNISS, an hour long horror-drama from creators Macon Blair and Fede Alvarez, developed by AMC and DAY FIVE, a Streamy-winning Rooster Teeth series which aired on El Rey Network. He also wrote episodes for BLACKOUT, a narrative podcast starring Oscar-winner Rami Malek. He has developed a number of original pilots including AZALEA, a grounded sci-fi drama with Clovis Entertainment, and AGE OF REASON, a period thriller with Two & Two Pictures, along with re-write work on SUNBORNE, a sci-fi drama for Gaumont. David started out making short narrative and documentary films, including ETHAN & ELI, runner up for Best Dramatic screenplay at the Slamdance Film Festival. MORE
