Pre-requisite: Beat sheet for a 1/2 hour comedy or dramedy finished in TV 1 or TV Comedy 1 at Writing Pad. No 1 hour projects allowed, no projects that have not been vetted in a Writing Pad TV 1 class. Professional TV writers who have sold scripts or written on a TV show can skip this pre-requisite.

Unfortunately, the thought of actually writing the pilot fills you with dread every time you stare down at the blank screen. No problem! Berkley Johnson (Co-EP Hulu’s UP HERE, GIRLS5EVA, NEW GIRL) will take you through the paces in this 8-week Online TV Comedy Pilot Draft Writing Workshop. He will help you hone your beat sheets, turn them into an outline, and introduce your characters with pizazz. Berkley will also show you how to write that killer opening scene and turn your detailed roadmap into literary gold. By the end of this Online TV Comedy Draft Writing Workshop, you’ll have made progress on your first draft and be on your to way to revising it. Emmy not included.

Berkley Johnson was a Co-Executive Producer and Writer on Hulu's UP HERE, Peacock's GIRLS5EVA, ABC's SINGLE PARENTS and Fox's NEW GIRL. Prior to that, he wrote for CONAN, THE TONIGHT SHOW WITH CONAN O'BRIEN and LATE NIGHT WITH CONAN O'BRIEN, where he won an Emmy and a WGA Award.
