Finally the phone is ringing. It’s some fast-talking agent from ICM who wants to rep you because of that killer 1 hour drama or spec script you wrote. How did you get there? You took a rewrite class with Dailyn Rodriguez (Queen of the South, Lie to Me, Night Shift), that’s how. In this 7 week Los Angeles TV Drama Pilot Revision class, Dailyn will help you whip your script into shape. Through analyzing a professional script sample, you’ll see how a first draft is honed into a final shooting draft. First you will do a table read of the first act of your pilot and get detailed feedback on it. Then, you will rewrite (or finish) your pilot based on those notes. You’ll learn how to tighten scenes, track story arcs and polish characters and dialogue. You’ll come back for a full table read so you can see how it’s all playing on its feet. By the end of the class, you’ll have everything you need to make your pilot pitch ready. Emmy not included.
Prerequisites: You must have a full draft of a 1 hour Drama Pilot, 1/2 hour Dramedy or at least Act I and an outline written in a pilot writing class at Writing Pad or elsewhere.
