Want to tell powerful true stories without schmaltz to a packed audience of adoring fans? Let comedic storyteller and Moth host Corey Rosen share his tips for turning heartbreak, humiliation, and tragedy into a riveting five-minute piece that is the perfect mix of vulnerability and comedic vavoom. In this five week San Francisco storytelling workshop, you’ll learn how to find what’s funny in your foibles, structure a compelling story and connect solidly with your audience. You’ll do fun, improvised storytelling drills, learn about the structure of performance essays. Corey will even teach you how to expose your narrator’s flaws while also persuading the audience to root for you. By the end of the class, you’ll have crafted two polished stories based on upcoming Moth themes that you can take to the stage. You’ll get targeted feedback on your tales to help you polish up your diddies, and you’ll perform one of them at a show at a professional theater! Before you know it, you’ll join the ranks of the 10 students who won StorySLAMs and 2 who won GrandSLAMs from taking this class.

PAYMENT PLANS: A payment plan for this class is 5 weekly payments of $92.00. All payment plans include an additional $50 admin fee and a small credit card processing fee which is built into each weekly payment. Your card will automatically be charged once a week for 5 weeks until your class is paid off. At minimum, you must pay for each class meeting before it meets. Once you sign up for a payment plan, you are responsible for paying in full regardless of your class attendance. Rejected payment transactions are subject to an additional $25 fee. CANCELLATION POLICY: All sales are final and there are no refunds. Credit may be offered based on class availability. If you can’t come to class, call or email us as far in advance as possible. We will do everything we can to fill your spot, but we can’t make any guarantees. Credit eligibility is not based upon your reason for being unable to attend a class; it is based upon the timing of your credit request and our ability to fill your spot. If we find someone to take your place, you will receive class credit minus a $25 processing fee for 1 day classes and $50 processing fee for long classes. Otherwise, your payment will be forfeit.
