Have you dreamed about seeing your name in print in a top literary journal? Now’s your chance! In this 5-week San Francisco fiction writing workshop, Max Ross (Paris Review, newyorker.com) will help you craft a brilliant, heartfelt short piece! Through fun, in-class writing exercises and engaging craft talks, you’ll sample fiction genres like flash fiction, novel, short story, meta fiction, brainstorm new ideas and write a draft of a literary gem. You will learn fiction techniques like dialogue, line editing, and deconstructing a published story in your favorite journal. By end of the class, you’ll have a draft of a stand-out flash fiction tale, a solid plan for where to submit it, and concrete new fiction skills to add to your writing tool belt. Experienced and beginning writers welcome. Before you know it, you will be ready to join the ranks of the 32 students who have published short stories after taking this class.
