Want to tell stories that are true, poignant, and also make audiences laugh? Maybe you want to find the funny in life’s most challenging moments or just learn how to include more jokes in your already funny story? If so, this class is for you! In this four week San Francisco Comedic Storytelling Class, SF Moth Host and Stand-up Comedian Dhaya Lakshminarayanan breaks down comedic principles like joke structure, element of surprise, rule of 3, and act outs.
Through engaging in-class exercises you’ll explore the structure of humorous stories and delve into your own background and experiences to find your unique perspective. By the end of the class, you’ll have 2 stories of your own that you can take to the page, stage, radio or big (or little) screen. This class is perfect for writers, performers and anyone who just wants to infuse their work with humor. Before you know it, you’ll join the ranks of the 10 students who won StorySLAMs (2 who won GrandSLAMs) and 10 students who have gotten on the radio from taking our storytelling classes. Netflix Comedy Special not included.
