Are you working on a novel and looking for guidance? In this 5 week novel writing workshop, successful novelist Gretchen McNeill will help you nudge your book to the finish line! She’ll also teach you techniques for creating solid story structure, irresistible dialogue, characters and conflict. This class is designed for students who have taken an intro novel writing class before and have made some progress on their novels, whether it is a high level outline, or at least one chapter generated. If you like, you can even bring in up to 1200 words of your novel for targeted feedback every other session! With the aid of fun, hands-on exercises and balanced workshopping sessions, you will have completed at least one act of your brilliant book by the last session of this class. Before you know it, you’ll have completed a big chunk of your novel draft. Topics include: novel architecture, transitions, advanced POV, honing the world, internal vs external, the big idea, a compelling protagonist, climax, and subtext.

Pre-req: Novel class at Writing Pad or elsewhere and a high level outline of novel and/or a draft of a chapter.

PAYMENT PLANS: A payment plan for this class is 5 weekly payments of $92.00 All payment plans include an additional $50 admin fee and a small credit card processing fee which is built into each weekly payment. Your card will automatically be charged 5 times every week until your class is paid off. At minimum, you must pay for each class meeting before it meets. Once you sign up for a payment plan, you are responsible for paying in full regardless of your class attendance. Rejected payment transactions are subject to an additional $25 fee. CANCELLATION POLICY: All sales are final and there are no refunds. Credit may be offered based on class availability. If you can’t come to class, call or email us as far in advance as possible. We will do everything we can to fill your spot, but we can’t make any guarantees. Credit eligibility is not based upon your reason for being unable to attend a class; it is based upon the timing of your credit request and our ability to fill your spot. If we find someone to take your place, you will receive class credit minus a $25 processing fee for 1 day classes and $50 processing fee for long classes. Otherwise, your payment will be forfeit. If the class is being paid for as part of a payment plan, regardless of whether the student stops attending class, the payment plan must be paid in full by the end of the class.
