THIS TUES.: MICROBUDGET FILM

steven_perosIt’s the Hollywood dream: you and five best friends throw in 2k each and make the genius indie film that launches you to greatness. But how do you do it? You’ll need actors, sets, and lots of help. But most importantly, you’ll need a solid script that takes into consideration location, talent, production value, and time. That’s exactly what veteran director/screenwriter Steven Peros (“The Cat’s Meow”) did in his directorial debut, “Footprints,” which was produced on a micro budget and was called “One of the year’s 10 Best Films” by the Chairman of the New York Film Critics Circle. It was released in theaters in six cities and is now available on Netflix, iTunes, Amazon, Hulu, and many other streaming and DVD outlets. In this class, Steven will take you from the blank page to cinematic gold in this thrilling one day class. Through intensive brainstorming, a detailed craft talk, and focused in-class writing exercises, Steven will help you avoid the rookie pitfalls, harness your limitations, and craft a roadmap to your killer breakout film. By the end of the class, you’ll walk away with a solid plan for your project that will help you follow the Red Carpet Road all the way to Sundance.
