DC Pierson is an American comedian, author, and actor. He has appeared on TV shows such as “Community” and “Weeds”, various commercials, movies both short and long. He’s one-fifth of DERRICK, a sketch comedy group whose videos have been seen over 250 million times on YouTube. He co-wrote and co-starred in DERRICK’s feature film,”Mystery Team” that premiered at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival, released theatrically by Roadside Attractions, and is available on DVD from Lionsgate. He is a member of The Upright Citizens Brigade’s legendary Wednesday Night Brew Crew. He publishes short stories, poems, and un-asked-for opinions on his website, dcpierson.com. His first novel, The Boy Who Couldn’t Sleep And Never Had To (Vintage Contemporary) won an Alex Award for adult books with special appeal for teen readers from the American Library Association. His second book Crap Kingdom was published this March by Viking.
Annabelle Gurwitch is an actress, author, and popular television host. Her essays and articles have been published in More, Los Angeles Magazine, The LA Times, Marie Claire, Men’s Health, Glamour, Real Simple, and The Nation, xoJane, etc. Her forthcoming comedic memoir about turning 50 is slated for publication in Spring 2014 (Penguin). People Magazine deemed her previous memoir, “You Say Tomato, I Say Shut Up” (Random House, 2010) co-written with her Emmy award-winning writer husband Jeff Kahn, “laugh out loud.” Tomato is currently touring on its second national tour as a theatrical play. Annabelle turned being fired by Woody Allen into the book, documentary and play “Fired!” Oprah Magazine called the book and documentary “entertaining and slyly subversive.”She was also a regular commentator on NPR for five years. Annabelle hosted the popular series “Dinner & a Movie” for 6 seasons on TBS, hosted three seasons of “WA$TED” on Planet Green, in addition to programs on ABC, HBO, and the Style Channel. Her acting career includes over 50 guest roles on shows like “Medium,” “Boston Legal,” and “Seinfeld.” Films include “Shaggy Dog,” and “Melvin Goes to Dinner”.
Brian Finkelstein is a regular performer at The Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in Los Angeles, as well as the host of the LA Moth Story-slams. He has performed his solo shows in a variety of venues from the HBO/US Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen to the 2012 Summer Nights Festival in Perth, Australia. He’s also an Emmy-nominated writer for his work on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Currently his screenplay, Good Grief is being produced by 72 Productions and he’s touring with The Moth.
Iris Bahr is a critically acclaimed writer, actor, director and producer. Having starred on numerous television shows, she is best known for her recurring role as Svetlana (which she wrote and directed for Hdnet) and the Orthodox Jewish Girl that gets stuck on a ski-lift with Larry David on “Curb Your Enthusiasm”. Her critically acclaimed solo show, “DAI (enough)” had an extended hit run Off-Broadway and won the prestigious Lucille Lortel Award for Best Solo Performance, (as well as 2 Drama Desk and UK Stage Award nominations for Best Performance and Sound Design.) She has performed DAI around the world, including at the United Nations for over 100 ambassadors and delegates. Her first solo show, “Planet America”, received an LA Weekly nomination for Outstanding Solo Show and is currently in development as a feature film. She has written two humorous memoirs, “Dork Whore” (Bloomsbury) and its sequel “Macchu My Picchu” (Skirt).
Jeff Kahn is an Emmy award-winning writer who co-created, co-wrote, and co-starred in “The Ben Stiller Show”, as well as the short film, “Elvis Stories”, starring Ben Stiller, John Cusack, Jeremy Piven and Mike Myers. In addition, he has sold over 13 television pilots and 2 screenplays. Jeff co-authored, “You Say Tomato, I Say Shut Up” (Random House, 2010) with his wife, writer and actress, Annabelle Gurwitch. The theatrical production is currently touring cities nationally. Jeff has produced pilots at every major network, as well as FX, MTV and Comedy Central and had overall writing deals at Sony and Castle Rock. Jeff was the head writer of MTV’s “Austin Stories”, has written on “Later With Greg Kinnear”, the CBS sitcom “Muddling Through”, the sketch show “Townsend Television”, and the animated series “Dilbert” and “Drawn Together.” Jeff is also an accomplished actor and his acting credits include the films “A Thousand Words”, “Tropic Thunder”, “The 40 Year Old Virgin” and the TV shows “Entourage”, “Curb Your Enthusiasm”, “The Larry Sanders Show”, amongst others.
Lauren Weedman is an award-winning comedic actress, playwright and author. She has written and performed 8 solo plays. (“Homecoming”, “Amsterdam”, “If Ornaments Had Lips”, “Huu”, “Rash”, “Wreckage”, “Bust”, “No…You Shutup”). Her first show, “Homecoming” went on to go off-Broadway in NYC. “Bust”, about her work in the LA county jail was awarded a Macdowell fellowship for playwriting by the Alpert Awards as well as several “best of the arts” across the nation. Her TV credits include Arrested Development, New Girl, The Daily Show, True Blood, United States of Tara, Reno 911, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and as Horny Patty on HBO’s Hung. Film credits include Imagine That, Date Night and Judd Apatows “A Five Year Engagement” starring Jason Segal. Weedman’s first book, “A Woman Trapped in a Woman’s Body: (Tales from a Life of Cringe)”, is a collection of comedic essays and was named by Kirkus Review as a top ten Indie book for 2007 and was optioned by Fox TV for a pilot. She’s also the host of the Moth Storytelling series and will be appearing on the Untitled Michael Lannan project on HBO this year.
Darrin Butters has no shame, so he’s very comfortable as an MC. You can find him entertaining studio audiences for Disney Channel sitcoms like “Austin & Ally”, “Jessie”, “So Random”, and “Wizards of Waverly Place” (on which he was appeared, twice). He’s performed and taught improvisational theater all over Los Angeles. He is also an Animator at Walt Disney Animation Studios, where he’s worked for over 16 years. His work includes “Dinosaur,” “Chicken Little,” “Meet The Robinsons,” “Bolt,” “Tangled,” “Wreck-It Ralph,” and “Frozen.”
