Blake Charlton’s debut novel, Spellwright, was short listed for the Goodreads.com Readers’ Choice Award for Best Debut Fantasy and Kirkus listed second novel, Spellbound, as one of the best books of year. His science fiction short stories have appeared in popular anthologies and his work has been translated in to nine languages. His highly anticipated third novel, Spellbreaker, will be published this June. In addition to being a novelist, Blake has been (in no particular order) a high school English teacher, a JV football coach, a Yale undergraduate, a Stanford Medical Student, and profoundly dyslexic. He is currently a resident physician at UCSF and an editorial fellow at the Journal of the American Medical Association Internal Medicine. He has taught creative writing at Stanford Medical School and his non-fiction has appeared in the British Medical Journal, JAMA Internal Medicine, and the New York Times among others.
